Living in Lecce, I’m always on the hunt for amazing dining spots perfect for foodies like myself.
My newest find? Ristorantino Da Fabio in the nearby town of Zollino, in the heart of Grecia Salentina.
This cozy little place offers simple and authentic dishes, serving the real taste of Salento.

The restaurant is a small spot with a cozy, rustic vibe. And the exposed stone walls give off a warm and inviting feel.
Fun fact: the restaurant is believed to be built on the site of the castleβs ancient olive oil mill, or frantoio. The original structure dates back to the 1700s, adding a cool historical twist to your meal.

But as impressed as I was by the atmosphere, the service is what really blew me away.
The owner Fabio personally visits each table, taking the time to explain dishes and offer recommendations.
His genuine hospitality is a rare find these days. It makes you feel truly welcome and elevates the whole experience to a much higher level.

Now let’s get to the food, shall we? The menu is loaded with traditional Salentine specialties made from locally-sourced, fresh-as-can-be ingredients. A special note for the out-of-the-ordinary seafood pasta dishes (primi piatti di pesce), they are truly outstanding!
During our visit, we started with the mind-blowing antipasti spread that mixed seafood and land delicacies to perfectionβabsolutely delicious!

Then, I had gnocchi in a heavenly fish sauce for my main. It was super fresh and very flavourful. I just loved it! π

My husband devoured the signature Open Ravioli stuffed with seasonal veggies and cheese, also delicious!

We capped it all off by sharing a light, creamy homemade orange cheesecake – the perfect final bite!

Between the friendly and attentive service, authentic flavors, and generous portions at reasonable prices, Ristorantino Da Fabio in Zollino, in the heart of Grecia Salentina, checks every box. I highly recommend it!
If you’re exploring Lecce and the surroundings, and craving a taste of the real Salento, put this spot high on your list. You can thank me later! π
